This year we have come to appreciate our open green spaces in Amber Valley more than ever

Brook in local parkWe are lucky to have some lovely green spaces – they have been a lifeline to many during the pandemic.

One of these is Belper Parks, and it has been good to see so many people of all ages enjoying it. Sadly, the popular annual Woollen Woods was cancelled this year but we hope that the event – where volunteers decorate the trees with handcrafted woollen objects – will return in 2021.

The Belper Parks Volunteers (part of Transition Belper) regularly carry out practical work. They recently created a new footpath along Coppice Brook.

Thanks to everyone who helps look after our green spaces by picking up litter, or simply taking their own litter home and using dog poo bins.

We’d love to hear about your favourite green space in the area – and please tell us if you’ve encountered any issues while using it. Call us on 07796 2698499 or email: contact@ambervalley.greenparty.org.uk
