Green success in recent Amber Valley elections

11 May 2021

With the counts for the elections to Amber Valley Borough Council and Belper Town Council now completed, it is clear that the Green Party is the alternative to Conservative and Labour across the borough.

On Sunday, Steve Kennedy was declared the winner of the election for the Belper South ward for Belper Town Council, taking the seat from Labour.

Steve said: " I would like to express my thanks to the people of Belper South for giving me their vote. I will repay their trust by working hard on their behalf to make Belper a better place to live and work". Gez Kinsella won the Duffield and Belper South division for the County Council, displacing the previous Conservative councillor.

The total Green vote in Amber Valley in 2021 more than doubled compared to 2016.

Amber Valley Green Party is now looking forward to the elections in 2022 and is confident of further success.
