24 October 2021
At 6pm on 30 October people all over the UK will be sounding a loud alarm about climate breakdown by banging buckets, pots and pans on their doorsteps.
On 1 November, delegates from around the world will meet in Glasgow for the most important conference in the world’s history: COP26.
It takes place against a background of devastating fires and floods all around the world. We know these are being caused by global heating. We know this is driven by emissions of CO2 and methane. And we know that despite the Paris Agreement, emissions are continuing to rise.
On the eve of COP26, we want to send the strongest possible signal to world leaders to show that people all over the UK and all around the world demand immediate action to save our planet and its people from catastrophe.
How? by bringing people out on the streets for 10 minutes at 6pm on Saturday 30 October with pots, buckets, bells and anything else that can be banged or rung to make a loud noise.
Climate breakdown threatens to destroy everything we love. Will you help to raise the alarm?
“I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is.” – Greta Thunberg
