Supporting Local Pharmacies

Green Party councillors Matt McGuinness and Lian Pizzey joined pharmacist Bal Bange at Amber Pharmacy in Horsley Woodhouse for a Day of Action.
This event was part of a national effort to show the big challenges pharmacies are facing. Many pharmacies struggle with funding cuts and rising costs. There are around seven closures each week across the country. Amber Pharmacy started a petition so the community can show support for keeping these essential services open.
Matt and Lian spoke with residents, encouraging them to sign the petition. “Pharmacies are important to our community,” said Matt. “They offer healthcare, medications, and personal support. ”

Lian added, “We need to act now to keep these valuable services open for the future. By signing the petition, residents can help show their support for local pharmacies, which play such a vital role in health and well-being in our communities.”
