Kirk Langley Crossing

In our recent doorstep survey, Kirk Langley residents shared their concern about the lack of pedestrian crossing on the busy A52. To understand the issue, Green candidate Rachael Hatchett and Duffield Councillor Eva Long visited the village.

It quickly became clear how dangerous it is to cross the road, especially during rush hour when children are heading to school. The speed limit through the village is 40mph and accidents at the nearby four-way junction are common.

Local resident Tracey Brown shared her frustration, explaining that a crossing was promised when plans for new homes in the village were approved, but it has never been installed.

Green councillors in Amber Valley have been tackling the council about the housing developers who do not meet their planning commitments.

Tracey said, “I welcome the support from Green Party councillors in speaking up about this.  The village has suffered for years from the council’s failure to deliver the crossing.”
