The Green Team has been out and about delivering doorstep surveys to learn what matters most to our community. The clear message? Road safety is a top concern, especially problems like speeding and potholes.
Councillor Gez Kinsella has made road safety one of his priorities. Since being elected, Gez has been working closely with residents and parish councils, pushing for improvements. Thanks to his efforts, we’ve seen several changes, including:
- A new “slow” sign on Hazelwood Road, Duffield
- Dragon’s teeth road markings on Cumberhills Road, Duffield
- Double yellow lines and safety signs outside Joiners Arms, Quarndon
- Resurfacing Burley Lane and Church Road, Quarndon
Gez is committed to improving the council’s approach to pothole repairs, ensuring that fixes are done properly, not just patched over temporarily. For any road safety concerns, please report them directly to Derbyshire County Council online or by phone. If you don’t receive a response, Gez will follow up with the council on your behalf.
